Laboratory professional and field archaeologist with twenty+ years of experience in survey, excavation, curation, artifact conservation and treatment, laboratory analysis, and college-level teaching. Experience covers prehistoric and historic sites and associated artifacts from Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wyoming, Italy and Egypt. Managed and conducted XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) soils analyses, electromagnetic conductivity surveys, magnetic gradiometry surveys, ground-penetrating radar surveys, artifact conservation and stabilization projects, and authored or collaborated on numerous technical reports and proposals. Produced collection catalogs, and formulated collection treatment and management plans for a wide range of artifact types. Stabilized and preserved historic and prehistoric artifacts including the chemical treatment of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, glass, leather, ceramics, bone, and wood. Well versed in 36 CFR 79 curation standards (Code of Federal Regulations, part 79, Curation of Federally-owned and Administered Archaeological Collections) and authored curation SOPs for a major federal client. Other expertise includes ancient Egyptian viticulture and enology, technical writing, and developing and conducting client-centered training in conservation and collections care. Additionally, continue developing and teaching college-level courses including cultural and biological anthropology, archaeology, artifact conservation, ancient Egyptian history and Egyptian archaeology. Teaching has included traditional and non-traditional students in face to face and online platforms.
