About Suzanne Taylor

Sue has 20 years experience as a professional town planner, assessing a wide variety of development applications ranging from residential uses, character assessments, subdivisions, entertainment uses, tourism developments, industrial and commercial developments and rural based enterprises. Prior to her career in town planning, Sue worked as a Scientific Assistant with NSW Agriculture and the Department of Primary Industries in Queensland, which involved working on research dairy farms, macadamia farms, coffee plantations and scientifically identifying ant species as part of the Fire Ant Control Program. As part of her role with the DPI, Sue worked as a Community Engagement Officer, educating school children and the wider community about Fire Ants and Biosecurity. As a testament to her ambition and drive, throughout her undergraduate science degree, Sue pursued volunteer work with the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, the Environmental Protection Agency and various environmental consultancies to learn valuable skills in ecological surveying and reporting. Sue is a passionate planner, with a commitment for balanced decisions, strong interpersonal skills and a diverse range of experience and knowledge. Sue holds a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Town Planning from the University of Queensland and has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Environmental Science and Ecology (Hons) from the Queensland University of Technology.
