About Suzanne Zeliff

I live and breathe the environment —literally. It all stems from growing up in rural Vermont. I heard,"Go outside and take the dog with you!" more often than my name. I loved growing up in the country; learning about environmental and biological processes throughout school whilst being able to actually see them in action was amazing. My current passion for the environment and how to mitigate human impact is based on four occurrences. Living in Montana. Seeing the Rocky Mountains for the first time - I was completely awestruck. It greatly saddened me that the state generally lacked concern for conserving its environment and nature. A civil engineering class. Learning in depth about how buildings and infrastructure affect and are effected by the environment - I was sold! I immediately changed my major to environmental science. A forest ecology and conservation class. My class was granted the opportunity to make plans for an old mix-use town parcel. We did it all. A brief Environmental Impact Statement, a Phase I ESA, and group work in designing landscape/architectural features. My time at SNHU. Learning from my MBA program how I can integrate environmental knowledge and sustainability practice into every facet of the business world coupled with my amazing time working for the Office of These transformative moments drove my innate love of nature and the environment from enjoying it to I WILL save it. I have lived an action packed life. I have travelled around. I have lived in big Montreal and little Alberton, Montana. Environmentally diverse areas such as the Rockies to the Maine coast. I have learned the hard way how resourceful I can be. I am a strong believer that you can save the world through local actions, realize that your impact has far reaches. I have seen first-hand what power communities can have. I am a pro at volunteering! From fundraising to grant writing to field/water sampling to creating and planning events to community outreach/committee building to speaking to elected officials, urban beautification, and everything in between. If the volunteering world can think of it, I have probably done it. If you don't like something, don't whine about it, fix it. Be the difference in change. My curiosity never stops. I love learning. I adore challenges. I am excited to share my love of analytical problem solving and helping others achieve their environmental goals with you. I am the queen of dad jokes.
