About Sven Rogge

Long-term progress is not an isolated coincidence. It is the result of identifying the key drivers of durable success combined with a data-driven exploration of how to act upon these drivers to yield lasting improvements.As a FWO Postdoctoral Fellow in Applied Physics, I devoted my research to pursue progress in nanoporous materials, specifically geared towards technological applications in gas adsorption, sensing, shock absorption, and catalysis. In my dissertation, I constructed and validated a computational toolbox to understand and predict how microscopically tuning nanoporous materials may endow them with interesting and targeted mechanical features. This toolbox aims to facilitate long-term progress in this scientific field.Whether focusing on scientific progress (e.g, in my PhD or during my internship at ON Semiconductor) or on developing fundraising initiatives for an NGO (e.g, the 2014 BCG Strategy Cup in cooperation with SOS Children’s Villages), I love developing solid solutions for strategic challenges with a clear impact on society. As a counselor of 11 master thesis students, teaching assistant, and former president of a student organization, I have realized the importance of clear and succinct communication in order to advance towards a common goal. Eager to broaden my horizon, I have continuously reached for new challenges, completing several language courses and acquiring online degrees in the fields of data analysis and machine learning.
