About Sven Werlen

As cloud director specializing in cloud environments (DevOps), my work focuses on managing multidisciplinary squads in PaaS and CaaS cloud platform development and operations. My responsibilities also consist of development and accessibility related to continuous delivery tools at Desjardins. Since 2016, I have spearheaded the implementation, maintenance and evolution of VMware Tanzu (previously PCF) based on Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes technologies on Microsoft Azure and VMware NSX-T. Under my leadership, we have worked on defining the orientations, prioritizations and availability of continuous delivery tools based notably on the Bitbucket, SonarQube, Artifactory, Concourse CI software packages, as well as GitHub Enterprise more recently. In view of the fact that I believe in agile practices, I assisted IT transformation teams in the realisation of their objectives and have actively participated in the implementation of the DevOps model with cloud services at Desjardins. I actively collaborated with Desjardins security and cryptography teams to establish an end-to-end chain of trust and secure cloud environments to enable squads in delivering high-critical applications with confidential data in an autonomous and secure manner. With over 15 years of experience, my technical background includes implementations of technological solutions such as Liferay, Alfresco and Talend within various industries (Hydro-Québec, Desjardins, SSQ, Yellow Pages, TC Media, Bell Canada among others).
