About Swati Nagar

A 21-year career as a scholarly practitioner that provides comprehensive knowledge and expertise across all aspects of teaching, research, industry engagement, and leadership. Over the years, I have developed a philosophy that centres on collaboration, inclusivity and openness, reflected in all aspects of my work. I pride myself on my ability to engage, establish, and manage relationships (internal and external) with a range of stakeholders within the University and industry. I understand the importance of effective communication when working in a team and how collaboration and the ability to adapt enhance the working environment and productivity. Furthermore, I champion new and innovative methods, specifically concerning teaching and learning pedagogy and Industry-focused research. I am recognised as a subject matter expert on topics that have a social impact. Examples include Modern Slavery, Sustainable Production and Consumption in the FMCG Industry, and Pedagogical research that explores teaching and learning best practices in a post-COVID education environment. I have gained vast experience in coaching and mentoring other colleagues on Faculty and University practices and policies during my career. I have served in a wide variety of leadership roles that have allowed me to gain an in-depth understanding of administrative needs in tertiary education. While at AUT, I served as the Head of the Department - International Business, Strategy & Entrepreneurship - at AUT Business School, overseeing all operational aspects of the Department. I am currently employed as a Senior Lecturer (Education Focused) in the Discipline of International Business at the University of Sydney Business School. I also serve as the Communication Co-ordinator for the AIB Teaching and Learning SIG and the VP. Secretary for AIB Oceania.
