A seasoned marketing veteran, Sybil Taylor has led teams at several award-winning private & public companies, taking start-ups to market leadership by building successful, fully integrated, consumer-focused marketing plans that drive sales, build brand reputation and create lasting customer loyalty. Over her career, Sybil has propelled marketing strategy, brand development, and product launches across Canada and export markets, supported by a culture of quality and an aligned organizational ethos she has helped to define and foster. Sybil now sits on several boards and holds advisory positions with Not-for-Profit organizations, in addition to her current fractional marketing role at social enterprise contractor, Community Builders. An entrepreneur at heart, Sybil has worked in a number of emerging industries from artificial intelligence to cannabis to craft beer. Sybil has spent most of her career in the regulated beer and cannabis industries. As the first employee of Steam Whistle Brewing, she launched this iconic Canadian craft beer, establishing stand-out brand experiences through cultural partnerships and green business. She built a loyal fan community through exceptional customer outreach, creative communications, and proactive publicity, helping to take Steam Whistle from local upstart to the largest craft beer brand in Canada. In 2017, Steam Whistle was named in The Interbrand 150: Iconic Canadian Brands Report. In her role as Chief Marketing Officer at Nuuvera Canada and then MediPharm Labs, she helped to launch these medical cannabis companies using pharmaceutical approaches to attract sales in international markets. Sybil has been part of two of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, The Upper Canada Brewing Company and Steam Whistle Brewing. Through her environmental stewardship, Steam Whistle was awarded Excellence in Corporate Responsibility Award, Minister’s Award for Environmental Excellence, Canada’s Clean 50 Award, and Canada’s Greenest Employers.
