Policy professional working in state government management of natural resources since 2008. Extensive experience in policy and legislation development and implementation, particularly in plantation forestry, agricultural land, and protected areas management. A manager of teams ranging in size from two staff to 30, including the remote supervision of direct reports working in regional state government offices. Experience in corporate reviews and restructuring of agency divisions and teams, including the review of positions and designing and implementing necessary redirection/revision of officers' roles and responsibilities from both a strategic and human resources perspective. Directly involved in agency corporate initiatives, including those enhancing inclusion and diversity and the education of departmental officers in identifying and assisting those affected by domestic violence. Led and developed an initiative to create an agency network for indigenous employees, including seeking and securing funding to deliver face-to-face workshop chaired by the agency's director-general. Experienced principal advisor in offices of a director-general and a deputy director-general, and of several executive managers. Responsibilities included participation in the development and bearing out of agency strategic positions, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of all outgoing information, and managing the team and its operations on a day-to-day basis, along with the maintenance of the team's critical relationships - both internal and external to the department. Graduated in 2022 from University of Queensland with Graduate Diploma in Governance and Public Policy. 2006 Juris Doctor graduate of the TC Beirne School of Law, University of Queensland; admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland as a legal professional in 2008; and holder of undergraduate qualification majoring in Psychology and English from the University of Auckland. Areas of special interest include the identification, assessment, and management of strategic corporate risk - from from a public service standpoint as well as that of private sector stakeholders - and the development of networks and relationships with a view to optimising productivity for the agency and its stakeholders, including peak industry bodies and private sector operators.
