About Sydnee Reddy

Who knew the pandemic would lead me to find my passion? When describing the pandemic one word I would use that time would be unsure. I was unsure about the world and unsure about what my future would look like. The only thing I was sure about was I wanted to get out of my house. The summer of that year I got a call saying my former middle school was looking for a development intern. I was unsure about the position, mainly because I had no idea what development entails. The only knowledge I had was about how they raise a lot of money. Just after one summer as an intern, I believed I found my calling. I enjoyed building relationships with donors and seeing even the little work I did go towards helping a great community. After that one summer the rest was history. I spent every summer after that as a development intern and a semester at WHYY working as a Major Gifts Intern. These experiences have helped me gain knowledge of various fundraising databases, and improve my relationship-building skills when connecting with donors. I’m very passionate about helping others and using the skills I’ve learned from my experiences. Being able to fulfill my passions means that I’m completing my own goals. I never thought I would be thanking a global pandemic for helping me find my passion.
