About Sydney Baker

I am a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore where I received my Masters in Clinical Social Work (MSW). I am a dually Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland and Pennsylvania (LCSW), specializing in young adult, women's, and LGBTQIA+ mental health. I provide trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and gender-affirming care to individuals experiencing challenges with depression, anxiety, life transitions, exploration of self-concept and identity, sexuality, emotional dysregulation, communication and relationships, and a wide array of circumstances that life presents. My work tends to focus on the very humanity of these experiences, utilizing systems-based, emotionally focused, and neuropsychological lenses for deeper understanding, and breaking up with our tendency to pathologize very natural, yet complex and nuanced, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
