About Sydney Hertel

Most kids grew up sleeping with blankets and teddy bears, I grew up snuggling with books. I traveled to different times and places through the pages of my books in the comfort of my home. I outgrew my home and now experience the world, exploring different places and cultures, but I will never outgrow books. I took a leap of faith and moved to Colorado for the beautiful outdoors. Then the promise of adventure in the skies called my name with a career as a flight attendant. Along the way I picked up odd jobs on the side, like packing parachutes at a drop zone, and substitute teaching, and visual merchandising at REI. Between college and my career(s) I have acquired many skills and learned a lot of life lessons. I can communicate across language barriers and adapt to different social norms. I am creative and resilient in last minute and complex situations. I maintain positivity and reinforce teamwork to overcome challenges. I always wring dry every opportunity of all it has to offer me.
