About Sydney Lunde

I graduated from Black Hills State University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Creative Writing. I graduated summa cum laude, having completed two capstone thesis projects. My Political Science Capstone was an examination of feminist theory that discussed masculine vs. feminine leadership styles in government. My Honors Capstone was an in-depth look at solutions to the fast-fashion problem divided on a state, federal, and local level. During my time at university, I spent a great deal of time on extracurriculars, such as being a jury member and judge for the Thompson Diversion Club (2020-2022), the president of the Environmental Sustainable Student Organization(2021), a writer and editor for the Jacket Journal (2020), and being asked to work with the Veterans Legacy Project for my skills as a researcher. In addition, I was a member of the Campus Democrats, and had creative works published in the school's creative journal. Before college, I took a gap year where I volunteered with Heidi Heitkamp's political campaign in the fall before working at a hostel in York, England for four months. I then backpacked the UK for a month, and spent another month traveling in Italy before returning to the states to pursue my degree. In high school, I was the captain of the varsity dance team, a member of the honors society, a community leader for Philanthropy & Youth, one of the leaders for the Art Club, in addition to winning multiple state titles in dance, one-act play, speech, art, choir, and writing.
