About Sydney Sharp

Hello, my name is Sydney Sharp and I am a recent graduate from the University of Toronto. Currently I work as a Client Care Coordinator Lead at Markham Kids Physio Group. My work experience includes customer service responsibilities and proficient data entry within Excel and the Registry Program with an Alberta Registries and Insurance Company Office, Hostess and Server, cashier and shelf facing at a local grocery establishment, employment with the City of Airdrie Parks Department, house sitting and extensive childcare. Currently, I have had the opportunity to work as a research intern under the supervision of Dr. Kelly Arbour-Nicitopoulos in research exploring children with disabilities and the inclusiveness of playgrounds. I have also currently joined a research team with Dr. Nick Reed in the OAK Lab where we are working with the special Olympics in regards to concussion education. As I grew up on the family farm my experience also includes working with large animals and the daily care of livestock. I have informal training on the application of medications for the animals and general knowledge of the input and harvesting of cereal crops. I am cooperative, hard-working, conscientious and enjoy working within a team environment. I am a very active person both personally and academically. I previously participated in extracurricular activities including volleyball, basketball, badminton, track and field and was a member of a Club Volleyball team located in Calgary, Alberta. I have been involved in various committees volunteering in my community and school and think that it is very important to give back to the community that supported me. I was very involved in a high school leadership program and for 2 years participated in the Rockyview School Division Leadership Program. I was a coach for various sport teams and was an instrumental part of organizing a Provincial Middle School Leadership conference that took place in Airdrie, Alberta. I enjoy sports, cooking, any activity outdoors and spending time with family and friends. I like to go camping and enjoy water sports. I am very enthusiastic to further my employment experience and with my positive attitude and willingness to learn.
