About Syed Chand

I have spent the last 24 years in senior and mid-level management specializing in the areas of project/program management. My key expertises are on Promoting Governance, Entrepreneurship Development, Women Empowerment, WASH Promotion, Partnership Management, Advocacy etc. I worked exclusively on the issues of environment pollution, unplanned urbanization, climate change, drug abuse, gender-based violence, and social inclusion. Managed well the competency-based training program for 4500 women and 80% of them got established with employment; Promoted destitute women with establishment of income generating activities; Implemented several projects on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) successfully with 114 partner- NGOs. Allocation of 100 crores taka by the government in the national budget 2011-12 as grant for women entrepreneurship development through exclusive advocacy; Trained 550 Union Parishads and 40 Upazila Parishads with regards to developing institutional capacity on earthen road maintenance; Contributed significantly on different publications like handbooks, research reports, different training modules etc.
