About Syed S.

With twenty years of experience in the construction industry, I began my career in 2003 after graduating as one of the top students from Vasavi College of Engineering in Hyderabad, India. My journey started as a site engineer at Moghal Builders. I then moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and worked as an estimator and site supervision consultant at the Dar Al Moheet consulting firm, specializing in commercial malls. After three years, I joined Amana Qatar as an estimator for their multiple offices in the GCC. I successfully completed a comprehensive estimation for the Business School Building Project, leading to a successful bid. Following my tenure at Amana Qatar, I joined Dutco Balfour Beatty in Dubai as a quantity surveyor for the Dubai Mall Project. During my time there, I demonstrated exceptional accuracy in my work and successfully recovered a significant amount of money from a subcontractor. Later, I was transferred to the HO Estimation Department of Dutco Balfour Beatty. Subsequently, Davis Langdon, an AECOM Company, hired me as a Cost Consultant for a highly confidential (cost-plus) project for the Saudi Government. I spent seven years and four months with them, agreeing on interim and final values for major packages. In November 2018, I joined De Leeuw International Cost Consultants as a Managing Quantity Surveyor, leading a team of 10QSs in one of their branch offices. Currently, I work as a Commercial Manager, leading a team of 9 SQS & QS on a Giga project development (9 packages) near Riyadh. I'm also involved in the hiring process to meet workload demands. I am proficient in CAD, PDF (measurement tool), basic Blue Beam, CCS Candy, and CostX regarding software usage.
