About Sylvain Clermont

Sylvain is a strategic in the transformation of the electricity grid, including the digital transformation and its contribution to the energy transition, to climate changes adaptation, to electrification and to grid resiliency. He has a wealth of experience and has contributed to several strategic initiatives. He participates in international panels related to power grid transformation, digitalization, energy transition, climate change adaptation and cybersecurity. He has contributed to many international conferences. Notably, he is vice-chair of the Cleaner Electricity System Group of experts and contributing member to the Task Force on Digitalization of the Energy Efficiency Group of Experts at the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) He has founded DigiTransfo expertise inc. to provide strategic advice to guide customers through the electricity sector transformation (energy transition, integration of renewables and distributed energy resources, grid resiliency, active role of customers, etc.) He also contributes to the ICS/OT Cybersecurity National Practice at WSP Canada as a consultant in digitalization, energy transition and grid transformation. As an executive at Hydro-Québec, he led the projects to digitize transmission system facilities. These projects are transforming ways of doing things and paving the way for efficiencies.
