About Sylvain Denoncin

I’m convinced that people with disabilities must be able to get around with autonomy, have access to the same services as everybody else and have the same choices. What I’m seeking to accomplish before all is to give the vision we have about disabilities a new lease of life, bring a fresh take on accessibility and innovate in this field. And that’s what I realize everyday with Okeenea that I co-manage with Martin Rochon. Let me sum up Okeenea’s reason for being: conceiving accessibility solutions with people with disabilities to better meet their needs. Okeenea is an overview of accessibility. It must serve people with impairments. To further the inclusion of people with disabilities, I’m also a positive influencer. In 2015, I was the president of the AFPAPH, a French organization that gathers accessibility professionals. Accessibility concerns us all. It’s important for professionals and experts to be properly trained to implement it. I speak as an expert among French standardization organizations like AFNOR or ISO, particularly when it comes to inclusive technologies. I’m also an international speaker on topics related to universal accessibility and audio signage. I spoke in about 15 countries on 3 continents because I think that sharing knowledge is fundamental and works both ways. These entrepreneurial projects enable me to implement a vision: the 21st century company must offer its employees a collective adventure whose goal is to have a positive impact on a changing society. Having committed, creative and supportive teams is the best way to bring real value to our customers and end users. To fuel this vision, I’m also part of French groups for entrepreneurship like APM, BPI Excellence and Cercle Pépite. As you can, I have a lot of work on my plate.
