About Sylvain Ratton

Over 30 years of experience in PCB layout design. Using board layout technical documentation, I self-trained myself in the late seventies and produced a handmade thru hole board (6800 CPU in Euro format) as a freelancer using donut and tape. In 1980, I got hired to design game lightning and power supply boards. The next companies I worked for, was to design by hand, multilayers boards using both TH & SMT technologies for CPU, UHF application (working in tandem with the engineer) and started to create my first board for video application (mix of analog and digital signals). Created also of the documentation inherent the each design. When I moved to USA, I started to use CAD tool which increase my productivity. With the years, I did increase my knowledge by working with the engineers, fab and assembly shop. I designed simple and complex boards with 2 to 40 layers, blind and buried vias, Impedance control, Fine pitch BGA, Power supply, Low frequency RF board, High speed 10 Gbit lines and Flex board.
