About Sylvester Schmidt

I have worked as a design engineer and project manager for German and French construction companies in Germany and West Africa. As a trained engineer from Germany, my mission became promoting and distributing the use of synthetic and steel fibers in concrete, worldwide. As a part of this mission I decided to launch my company, A1 Concrete Fibers, LLC and in March of 2018 I collaborated with Jason Adams of Sinclair Construction to create MEGASLAB™. As Head of Technology at MEGASLAB™ I provide my expertise in the field of concrete, fibers, and chemical admixtures. I am also involved in the testing and design phase, identifying the optimum combination of fiber and chemistry to create a high performance jointless slab. MEGASLAB™ is a revolution in concrete technology. It is a jointless slab with virtually no cracking and curling, providing a flatter slab with unlimited rack post layout options, a better finish, and significantly reduced maintenance. My professional background also includes working as CEO of Addiment Inc- a chemical admixture company, CEO of Autoclaved Areated Concrete Producers, and Director of Technical Services for the US operations of RMC USA – producers of ready mix concrete, cement, and masonry products. I have also been involved with the National Ready Mix Concrete Association (NRMCA) and the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA) where I served as an Executive Board Member, including Chairman of the Board. I am currently active in the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
