About Sylvia Gregory

I am a Detailed Driven Trusted Advisor and a Success Progressor. I was I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and my very first job was when I was 11 years old as a grocery bagger in my uncle's Chinese grocery store. It was there I reinforced my proficiency in Cantonese and Toisan and discovered my natural eye for detail and organization when I was packing the groceries into the shopping bag. My interactions with customers and co-workers encouraged my passion for people engagement and building relationships. Through my progression of all my roles, I discovered my ability to genuinely connect with individuals and make them feel safe and heard and thereby, becoming their trusted advisor. I emerged as a servant leader meaning I acted with integrity, I actively listened, and I was responsive. It also helps that I love to bake and more importantly I love to share what I bake with my co-workers. Sharing is my way to start a connection or to affirm trust and comfort in existing ones. Through the years I have found value, both personally and professionally, in recognizing an individual’s potential and facilitating growth. With a well-developed succession plan, employees are more motivated and more willing to remain in their current organization resulting in an increase in employee retention, an increase in morale, and a significant increase in cost savings in recruiting, onboarding, and training for a company. I believe I have been successful professionally because of these common traits of detailed organization and people engagement showing up in everything I do
