About Sylvia Tan

A detail-oriented, responsible and committed Operations professional with over 15 years of experience in the Entertainment and Attractions industries. As Head of Commercial Operations at Merlin Entertainments Singapore, I directly lead a cross-functional team of five and a wider team of 30 managing the daily operations of Madame Tussauds Singapore. I specialise in streamlining processes and boosting profitability by implementing efficient systems to support business needs, whilst simultaneously ensuring maximum potential within my team by staying people-focused. I do this by analysing data, identifying gaps, and proposing and deploying solutions. I spent my early career years building shows, producing concerts and creating events before finding my niche in business and frontline operations. My early experience in an almost frenetic industry built a lasting spirit of grit and tenacity, feeding a lifelong belief that there is no such thing as an unsolveable problem.
