Highly skilled marketing and communication professional with over 25 year's experience in the financial services industry. As marketing manager at Old Mutual, I gained experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies, content development and management, campaign management and public speaking. I also have extensive experience in writing across mediums, including advertorials, marketing material, web copy and newsletters. I have a long relationship with the media. I have appeared on radio, TV and in print numerous times, and was the resident financial guru on the Cape Talk Early Breakfast Show from 2016 to 2020. Since leaving the corporate world at the end of 2014, I have continued to focus on money - sharing what I know to encourage others to have a healthy relationship with their money, and to make decisions that will lead to wealth and financial security. I write financial articles for various magazines and online publications on a freelance basis and am also a qualified financial planner. I have written three non-fiction books, one of which was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Alan Paton Award in 2011. I have also written several books for corporate clients, and have contributed on the topic of financial planning, in two other published books. Smartwoman was published in August 2017, and updated and relaunched in February 2022. My most recent corporate project was researching, writing and managing the design of an ebook for the South African Reserve Bank, on their IT history from the 1970s to present. Sperry to Sandbox was completed in mid 2022.
