About Sylvia Welsh

Since 1993, Sylvia Welsh has been a travel professional. In an effort to travel for little cost, Sylvia began organizing group tours to destinations she wanted to visit. Slowly, groups became larger and member of her groups would often call for assistance with booking their family vacations, destination weddings or family reunions. As an experienced planner, group leader and guide, the next transition occurred after 2001, when Sylvia began to assist with the planning of corporate sales meetings and events. In 2010, after a move from Chicago to Las Vegas, Sylvia began to receive many requests from the many meeting planners and agents in her network for assistance with Las Vegas contracts, venues, restaurants and hotels. Excited about the endless opportunities in Downtown Las Vegas, Sylvia and her partners formed Downtown DMC (a division of Straightline Travel) to assist the amazing venues downtown with the promotion of both leisure and corporate travel outside the strip. While Straightline Travel services all locations worldwide, the Downtown DMC is a team of agents focused on staying on top of all the amazing and exciting happenings downtown. Sylvia is the Las Vegas chapter director of OSSN the 2015 dining director of PROST Las Vegas and a member of Destination Services Association, Las Vegas Hospitality Association, Las Vegas Territory and IATAN.
