Background
About Symone Lewin
I attained my Criminology BA Honours degree in 2017. Since I have experience mentoring offenders who are due to be released, supporting them to reintegrate back into society. My job roles have consisted of working closely with individuals who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. I worked as a support worker for adults who have autism and currently create and deliver personalised mentoring packages for young people with autism. Support work required me to undergo intensive training allowing my knowledge on Autism to be broadened. Previously, I was a Pastoral and Learning mentor in a SEMH school, dealing with challenging behaviour using restraint training and deescalation methods. Currently I am a Pastoral Support Manager at a mainstream secondary school in Birmingham. I have worked with different year groups and ages in school ranging from year 7, to sixth form. I am a qualified Youth Mental Health First Aider.
