Background
About T. C. Morrow
I’m a nonprofit leader and ordained United Methodist clergyperson committed to equipping people of faith and conscience to build a more just world. With over 20 years of experience in faith-based non-profits —including in finance, operations, communications, event planning, fundraising, advocacy and public witness—I bring a holistic, systems-minded, and theologically grounded approach to all I do. As Director of Finance & Operations at the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, I work to strengthen systems that support our mission to end torture in U.S. policy, practice, and culture. We continue to advance human dignity and human rights, with much of our current focus on ending the practice of long-term solitary confinement in U.S. prisons, jails, and detention centers. I also serve on the (volunteer) extended clergy team at Foundry UMC in Washington, DC, pitching in to support the staff clergy and laity. I studied Physics and Economics at Vassar College, with a few religion and politics classes knowing that seminary was up next. I have an M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary, with a concentration in Biblical Studies and received the Interpretation Award for excellence in biblical studies at graduation. I was ordained a Deacon in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the UMC in 2022. Outside of work, you might find me walking with my wife around the lake near our home, enjoying a challenging jigsaw puzzle, or playing Pokémon Go. I am passionate about contributing to congregations and communities that embody care, cultivate meaningful connection, and empower people to transform the world. I welcome connections, collaborations, and conversations with others committed to building more inclusive, compassionate, and effective houses of worship and nonprofits. If you are working in these areas or have projects aligned with these values, I would love to connect and explore how we might support one another’s work. Additionally, I am available as a guest preacher or speaker and can provide samples of previous speaking engagements upon request.
