About T. K. Bayless

In 2024 I ran for House District 74 for the Montana Legislature (which appears to have ruffled some feathers). I have been working in metallurgy and hydrochemistry with a diverse group of students from all over the world for the last 4 years. My background includes rare earths extraction and critical materials. I am proud of the work completed by our graduate students from Ghana, Laos, and other nations around the world.I have over 10 years of experience in academia as a technical writer, researcher, materials scientists, and project manager. 5 years of experience in teaching and laboratory management. I also have 5 years of experience in organizational management and analytics from both a professional background and independent contracts and volunteer work. I have submitted multiple grants in collaboration with the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense, Idaho National Labs, and the Colorado School of Mines.In the summer of 2021 I completed a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Montana Tech, with grant funding from Army Research Labs. As my career develops, I hope to continue to develop my career, experience, and skill sets. I've been described as passionate, studious, and well informed by labmates and coworkers. I have developed an advanced understanding of other people and specialize in technical writing, project management, organization and networking. My experiences at the Montana Office of Public Instruction have improved the quality of my project management skills and helped me to further develop skills in federal grant writing, human resources management, and the poise required for the independent strategic action.My background in analytics includes mathematical modeling, statistics and prediction using technical digital tools, and AI tools. I have a strong background with years of experience as a technical writer and experience in trend analysis within complex data sets. My initial Bachelors degree was in physics, and my Masters of Science was from the University of Bridgeport in biomedical engineering with a focus on Organic Chem and Biomaterials. I have worked with international teams and managed projects from proposal to completion.
