About Tabitha Quillen

I have been a Registered Nurse since 2002 and have clinical experience in Intensive Care, Home Care, School Nursing, Ambulatory Care, and Nursing Education. My passion is to teach nursing especially non-traditional students such as LPNs. I earned MSN in Nursing Education from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and my Ed.D in Nursing Education from the University of West Georgia (UWG). I have been a nurse educator for 7 years. I began my career in education at a local Licensed Practical Nurse Program prior to being hired at ETSU in 2016. I have remained employed at ETSU College of Nursing as the Director of Undergraduate Bridge Programs (LPN to BSN, RN to BSN) since that time. As a faculty member, I teach across all levels of the nursing curriculum in the traditional, accelerated, and bridge tracks. I have experience teaching in a variety of delivery modalities, including in-person, online, and hybrid formats. I also have experience in a variety of content areas, including informatics, health assessment, nursing fundamentals, medical-surgical nursing, clinical education, pharmacology, communication, community health, dosage calculation, pediatrics, and leadership. My research at the University of West Georgia was conducted on the topic of Academic Progression for LPNs. During my time as a UWG student, I was awarded the National League for Nursing, Nursing Education Scholarship.
