Background
About Tadhg Browne
European Policy Officer with the Irish Regions European Office (IREO), I advise and support Irish politicians in the European Union's Committee of the Regions. Specifically focusing on the impact of European policies on Ireland. As well as this, working with Irish MEPs to better facilitate multilevel governance between the European and local sectors. Previously worked as Parliamentary Advisor to Senator Lynn Ruane. During my time as an advisor, I managed the day-to-day operations of the Senator's office, analysed and advised on policy and drafted speaking notes. The role gave me key insights into the internal operations of Ireland's national parliament, as well as hands-on experience analysing and drafting legislation. Having graduated from Trinity College Dublin's Geographical Department in 2019, I am particularly interested in public policy and its impact on communities. My bachelor's degree is complemented by a first-class honours graduate diploma in law from the Irish Institute of Public Administration as well as a first-class honours certificate in Public Policy from the London School of Economics. This experience has given me a foundation for critically engaging with public policy issues. Further work experience includes; Housing Policy Unit at the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA), Cohesion Policy trainee at the Committee of the Regions, Approved Housing Body Auditor at the Irish Housing Agency. Highlights- Working with Senator Ruane to develop her Non-Disclosure Agreement legislation which has subsequently been replicated and adopted in the State of California, and inspired similar legislation in the UK- Speech writing for Chair of the COTER Commission Isabelle Boudineau for her Europe Day speech, which was watched by over people- Successfully organised the second ever visit of the President of the Committee of the Regions to Ireland. A two day trip which included an appearance before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on European Affairs, a reception in the Mansion House and a meeting with Trinity College Dublin Provost Linda Doyle.
