About Tahera Sajjad

I started my professional career as a psychotherapist which was also part of my academic requirement. Moving to real professional world, I was fortunate enough to start with a well known international NGO, Save the Children-USA (BFO) under GFATM (Global Fund to Fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria) funded HIV/AIDS program. As a beginner this was like a dream job and I learned a lot from working here. This was a nationwide program and the beauty was the public-private partnership giving me exposure to both GO and NGO strategies and work style. Moving form there I went to work with a national NGO but under the same program. Here I had more concrete experience of working with grass root people for whom the non-profits work at the end. The exposure to dealing with sex workers, IDUs, MSMs, young people made me more confident to work for them further and now I am more confident to prove myself in a better way. Having second masters degree in peace and justice and exposure to human rights issue make me feel more passionate to work on injustice around the globe and I am confident to be a strong human rights advocate.
