About Tai Donovan

I am an MSIV from Windsor University School of Medicine pursuing a career in Emergency Medicine. I graduated from Howard University with my Bachelor's degree and I am presently finishing up my masters in Health Care Policy and Administration. I have a background as an EMT that has worked in all 5 boroughs of New York City and on the south side of Chicago. I have also successfully run my own First Aid and CPR training business prior to pursuing medical school. I am passionate about tackling disparities in healthcare and promoting health equity. This commitment inspired me to co-found an organization dedicated to providing essential resources, health education, and services to the unhoused and survivors of intimate partner violence in New York City. Through this initiative, my aim was to make significant strides in bridging the healthcare gap for some of the city's most vulnerable populations. In hopes of expanding my impact, I also sit on the board and work for MEDCEEP, a non-profit organization aimed at empowering black and brown high school teens on the Southside of Chicago. By offering emergency preparedness training, career exposure in the medical field, and mentorship, the organization cultivates their students to become future medical leaders and community champions. Through my work, it is my hope that the groundwork is being laid for a medical community that better reflects the diversity of the population it serves, advancing us towards a healthcare system that is accessible and equitable for all.
