About Taivia Thompson

As the CEO and Therapist of Millennial Counseling and Consulting, I provide individual and group counseling services to clients with various mental health needs, using evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, CBT, and DBT. I also manage the daily operations of the practice, including budgeting, marketing, hiring, and supervision. In addition to my clinical and administrative roles, I am also an Adjunct Instructor at Ultimate Medical Academy, where I teach online courses in psychology and human services to students who aspire to enter the healthcare field. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with the next generation of professionals, and I enjoy facilitating online discussions, providing feedback, and supporting student learning. I am also a Doctoral Candidate at Capella University, pursuing a degree in Human Services with a specialization in Social and Community Services. I am currently working on my dissertation, which focuses on the concept of self stigma and how it impacts the likelihood of individuals to seek mental health treatment.
