Hi, I’m Taj — Barrister (unreg), Campaign Organiser, and Changemaker. Called to the Bar of England and Wales, I specialise in migration, human rights, and global justice. My mission is to drive meaningful, systemic change by bringing people and ideas together — across sectors and communities. Currently, I’m the Campaign Organiser at Migrant Voice, where I lead national efforts challenging hostile migration policy and rhetoric. From policy advocacy to media strategy, I amplify stories of resilience and hope, rooted in real-life impact. My experience spans: 30+ legal submissions to domestic and international bodies 50+ refugee clients represented in the UK and Spain 100+ international students supported with visa issues 20+ social impact projects with Councils, Charities and the NHS migrants trained in advocacy, media skills and legal knowledge Project delivery with Collaborate CIC, including work for the Ministry of Justice, Barnet Council, and Hounslow SEND Supporting Charities and Grassroots orgs. such as the LADS Project and Aspiring Barristers Ltd. Alongside legal and public service work, I’m an award-winning restaurateur, having won Season 7 of the Catering Circles Star Show. I believe change happens not only in courtrooms and campaigns, but also in community spaces like the kitchen. I bring both of these worlds together with Refugee Cafe in Lewisham where I am a Trustee and Legal Adviser. I apply adaptive leadership, systems thinking, and inclusive design to approach every project — from prison leaver support to restaurant service models — always working within complexity with compassion.
