About Tak Phu

Tak joined MTR in 2009 who has over 20 years working experience in Hong Kong. Tak has been involved in various railway projects, With his involvement in previous building and building A&A projects, large scale commercial and residential development, government projects and private clubhouse. Tak was the Lead Design Architect of the new campus station entrance. The key objective is to provide a new sustainable design and better connectivity to the Chinese University community and other commuters in the vicinity. This new entrance building incorporates several environmental-design features such as optimization of building form and orientation for natural lighting and ventilation which can contribute up to 30% of annual energy savings. Other sustainable building strategies include energy efficient LED lamp, low-E glass, external timber benches made from recycled railway sleepers, rain water harvesting for landscaping and sustainable building material use.Tak was involved in the overall design, project coordination, detailed design production, government submissions and site supervision until completion of the project. The project was successfully completed on time and within budget. The futuristic looking station has been recognized in a number of local and international awards and exhibitions including:• 2013 Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) Cross strait Architectural Nominated Award• 2013 Invited for exhibition at the Innovation carnival at Science Park HK, SITCE Singapore International Transport Congress and Exhibition in Singapore and Asia Pacific Rail Conference Exhibition • 2014 LEED Silver Award under the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design Award (LEED core and shell category) by U.S. Green Building Council
