About Tala Rosenthal

I graduated in 2020 from Mount Royal University with a B.B.A. in Accounting. I successfully wrote the CFE in September 2022 and plan to complete the practical experience by May 2023. I have been working at a boutique accounting firm in Calgary for almost 10 years. I started when I was in high school helping with administrative tasks around the office. As I progressed through my university career, I took on more complex administrative tasks such as handling A/R and A/P items, working directly with clients, handling communications with the CRA, as well as other day-to-day administrative functions. In my final years of university and since then, I have taken on more of an accounting role by providing bookkeeping services to our clients, preparing engagements (compilations, reviews, and audits), as well as preparing tax returns for both individuals and corporations. My experience working through the various positions at the firm has given me a unique understanding of all administrative functions and back-end items of a business, as well as a thorough understanding of the accounting process. I have also gained experience in accounting for a wide variety of different clients from restaurants, construction companies, real estate companies, not-for-profit organizations, proprietors, and more. I have gained proficiency in several different types of accounting software such as Sage Simply Accounting, QuickBooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online, Caseware and JazzIt, TaxPrep for T1, T2, and Forms. I value continuing education, teamwork, and being detail-oriented. It is important to me that my services add value to the company, the clients, and users beyond simply preparing a tax return and financial statements.
