About Tales Abdo

With over 6 years of experience in UX and Product Design along with a background in development, I have a combination of analytical skills and design perspective, allowing me to understand and execute projects from conception to completion. I excel at driving user-centric transformations that address complex, specialized business needs, coordinating design projects, and working with multinational, cross-functional teams. My background in development enables me to design attractive, yet feasible solutions that meet business goals and enhance user experience. I coordinated the design team of 6 generalist designers responsible for IBM's global hardware sales process transformation, enhancing the IT landscape by integrating user experience, business value, and technical excellence for a seamless unified operation, backed by user-centered design. This successful transformation was recognized with two Bronze Stevie Awards for Best Use of Customer Insight and Sales Collaboration Solutions. At Rivian, I led all design aspects from conception to adoption of 8 high-density data applications to support electrical engineers, enhancing efficiency and usability, reducing human error, and applying the Rivian design system to all applications. I collaborated with international teams from the USA, India, and Europe, delivering daily assets and providing weekly updates to stakeholders. Additionally, I led the unification of the Engineering IT application landscape, successfully promoting the initiative in collaboration with the project's product owner. As an advocate of the growth mindset, I am dedicated to continuous learning to keep pace with the rapidly evolving IT industry. I consistently update myself on the latest technologies and market trends to ensure my skills stay at the cutting edge. As a designer, I work closely with clients and stakeholders, managers, product owners, architects, and developers to understand the project and the process, conduct user research, create personas, process flows, wireframes, low to high-fidelity prototypes using Figma and Adobe XD, and gather requirements to write user stories using tools like Jira.
