About Tamala Mann

30 years of hands-on experience in emergency management mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery, which includes positions at the state and local level. Served as secretary on the Indiana Emergency Management Alliance Executive Board, where I worked extensively with local directors and state and federal officials supporting numerous programs at all levels of government. During my tenure as emergency management director, I was involved in numerous responses to emergency/disaster events several of which resulted in presidential disaster declarations. I was also responsible for recruiting, training, and administering a volunteer extrication and search and rescue organization. As a member of the Jay County Salvation Army Board of Directors where I served for 8 years as the chairman of the service extension unit, I was responsible for ensuring the mission and the message of the Salvation Army was carried out and coordinated during emergency and non-emergency times. As a consultant over the last twelve years, I have been involved in the management of numerous large-scale projects involving jurisdictions from large urban areas to small rural communities. My experience far exceeds management of projects. I have been responsible for a regional practice. In this role, my most important responsibility was delivering the highest quality of service to clients. In this role I was also responsible for business development, staffing, profit and loss and multiple other business functions. I am well versed in the requirements of the National Response Plan and the National Incident Management System. I have been trained as an EMAP assessor and have worked on behalf of a number of states and local jurisdictions seeking accreditation. I have developed, conducted, and evaluated more than 100 exercises, and offer extensive experience in the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
