About Tamara Biedermann

I am Dr. Tamara Biedermann Villagra, a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. My medical journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Asunción, Paraguay, where I graduated with honors (2003-2009). I specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, completing my residency (MIR) from 2011 to 2015. At Vall d’Hebron, I gained hands-on experience in managing complex neurological conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, and chronic disorders. I worked with multidisciplinary teams and applied advanced therapeutic techniques, which shaped my approach to patient care. My training emphasized not only medical treatment but also the importance of improving the overall quality of life for patients. During this time, I also developed a keen interest in pediatric rehabilitation, which led me to complete an external rotation at Virgen de Macarena Hospital in Seville in 2015. To deepen my expertise, I specialized in Pediatric Disability at Complutense University of Madrid (2017-2018). Understanding the importance of effective healthcare management, I pursued a Master’s degree in Management of Health Organizations at ESADE Law & Business School in 2021-2022, equipping me with skills to lead and innovate in healthcare settings. Since 2018, I have been part of Fundació Aspace Catalunya, an institution dedicated to the care of individuals with cerebral palsy, complex neurodevelopmental disorders, and multiple disabilities. In 2020, I assumed the role of Director of Health Services. My role encompasses not only clinical management but also strategic planning to ensure the sustainability and continuous improvement of services. I work closely with other areas to develop innovative projects that integrate new technologies and therapeutic approaches. Additionally, I promote ongoing staff training and collaborate with universities and research institutions to ensure that practices are grounded in the latest scientific evidence. My primary focus is on enhancing care for patients with cerebral palsy and complex neurodevelopmental disorders. I am deeply committed to advancing research, delivering excellence in clinical practice, and advocating for policies that promote accessibility and improve outcomes for individuals with disabilities. My approach to medicine is rooted in patient-centered care, driven by teamwork, innovation, and a dedication to continuous learning.
