About Tamara Chatman

I am a Cardiovascular and Transplant Liver/Kidney ICU RN-BSN with United States Navy Veteran background. Maryville University alumni. Five year liver/kidney/pancreas professional transplant ICU nurse at a level one trauma center. I take pride in caring for the recipients and living-donor patients of liver/kidney/pancreas. My job is to care for these patients throughout the transplantation process from end-stage disease processes to the preoperative, operative, and postoperative phase. In addition my unit is a double specialty unit. In my job, i also have a new cardiovascular ICU background. Cardiovascular nurses provide care to critically ill patients with cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgical issues. Therefore, i have learned, and continue to learn the many aspects of how to manage patients before and after a variety of cardiac surgical procedures. Nursing is and has always been my passion. I knew I wanted to be a nurse when I saw the passion for nursing in my mother's eyes as a child. I have come to understand her love for the medical field even more today. Being a medical professional has allowed me to enjoy the rewards of taking care of patients while growing professionally and personally. It brings about obstacles and opportunities that continually challenge me to be the best i can be.
