About Tamara Dawson

Throughout my career I’ve repeatedly demonstrated my ability to coordinate multiple complex projects and events in a high-pressure environment with outstanding outcomes for all stakeholders. I excel in managing the details while never losing site of the goal, regardless of challenges I encounter along the way. I’ve built a reputation as an articulate and engaging communicator who works exceptionally well with business partners, outside vendors and team members at all levels, consistently delivering results within budget and timelines. Representative strengths that set me apart include: Crisis Management—Following the COVID outbreak, I transformed a one-and-one-half day onsite workshop which included travel and lodging for 200 diverse registrants, to a successful remote event, navigating all required changes. Program Management—Directed an ad hoc, multi-division team of up to 100 on an intra-divisional decadal survey, that personally garnered recognition for my work with “Best Collaboration Award.” Teambuilding and Leadership—Gained Board approval to assume the leadership of critical projects following the unexpected departure of two key team members, meeting all deadlines during period of intense work volume. When I’m not working I engage in fitness activities including running and have completed 10Ks through marathons such as participating in the Firenze Marathon (Italy) representing AIDS Marathon DC (exceeding fundraising goal) and the Honolulu Marathon (Hawaii). I also enjoy yoga, international travel and real estate investing.
