About Tamara Kahan

I’m currently completing my Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, with plans to pursue fellowship in Gastroenterology. My passion lies at the intersection of clinical medicine and healthcare delivery—and I bring a unique blend of expertise through my Master of Public Administration in Health Policy and Management. During my MPA, I completed in-depth coursework in domestic and international health policy, health economics, statistics, accounting, and program evaluation—skills I’ve since applied directly to GI-focused research initiatives. Through these projects, I’ve sought to improve healthcare quality and delivery, leveraging data-driven methods and policy insights to drive meaningful change. As I move on to fellowship training, I aim to combine rigorous clinical training in gastroenterology with a systems‑level perspective—optimizing patient outcomes by integrating policy-driven strategies, quality-improvement practices, and health services research.
