About Tamara Melnik

After graduation from the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television at the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, I relocated to Los Angeles where I worked in production on countless commercials, feature films and music videos. After nearly a decade in Europe—where I owned her own catering business in Paris and worked on environmental documentary films in Germany (Berlin and Munich)—I returned to San Francisco to produce the feature film Juko’s Time Machine in the summer of 2009. Juko's Time Machine screened at the Los Angeles Comedy Fest and Sf Indie Fest to name a few. In 2009 I had the great pleasure to work with Oscar-nominated director Mark Kitchell on his comprehensive film about the history of the environmental movement. A Fierce Green Fire, premiered at Sundance 2012 and went on to have a wonderful educational outreach campaign. I then managed the narrative grants program at SF Film for 6 years where I helped shepherd films such as ‘Last Black Man in San Francisco’, ‘Obvious Child’, and ‘Hellion’, through their creative processes. Since the birth of my second child my motivation to leave the world better for the next generation has become the number one priority. I had the great fortune to join the incredibly talented team at Passive House Accelerator to promote sustainable building practices throughout the world for two years. Currently I am taking my creative eye to the interior world and learning as much as I can about interior design. I love helping people achieve their dream space and love the place they live.
