About Tamara Oki

Hello! I'm a recruiter with interests in Psychology and International Development. I'm bilingual in English and French. I have 5 years of full life-cycle recruitment experience that has included marketing and project management responsibilities. Currently, I’m the Global Recruitment Manager at Fuller Theological Seminary, where I am also completing my MSMFT. I was a Corporate Recruiter for Development Alternatives, Incorporated in 2021. DAI is a private international development organization with global corporate offices in Bethesda, Maryland; London, UK; Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria; Brussels, Belgium; Vienna, Austria and several other cities in European. In 2021, I taught English to Francophone students in Vieux Habitants, Guadeloupe (French Caribbean) through the Teaching Assistant Program In France, a program sponsored by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before this, I helped manage the Scholarly Concentration Program at the Office of Student Professional Enrichment at George Washington University's School of Medicine in 2019. Through building relationships, I motivated medical students, professors, and administrators to attend events on topics including Global Health. Previously in 2018, I conducted research on the impact of female teacher representation on girls' learning outcomes at UNESCO's International Institute for Educational Planning in Paris, France. Early in my career, I was a Manager of Talent Recruitment at Teach For America, and sourced prospects for the organization's senior leadership positions. As a Manager of Recruitment, I also oversaw a portfolio of 3 Mid-Atlantic universities in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area and recruited rising seniors to improve K-12 academic growth for scholars in disadvantaged communities. Moving forward, I'd like to continue being a mental health and wellness advocate. I love psychology and I'm currently becoming a therapist :) I love to write in my spare time and I'm dedicated to positively impacting the world while achieving my career goals. Feel free to connect.
