About Tamara Perko

With more than 20 years of experience in banking gained in different departments and various activities, of which more than 15 years in leading positions, I have participated in and managed some of the largest and most complex banking transactions in Croatia. As the President of the Management Board of HBOR (Croatian development and export bank, and export credit agency) I am, among others, in charge of supervising and managing the credit and funding operations, including activities related to EU funds, international affairs, and export credit insurance, as well as for the development and implementation of HBOR's business strategy. Since 2017, when I was appointed the President of the Management Board, HBOR has supported 10 thousand projects with EUR 5 billion and has introduced new services and types of lending. In addition, I am strongly focused on the development of the PE industry and the establishment of the new PE funds as an alternative source of financing for Croatian companies. I am proud of having one of the key roles in launching the first Croatian VC fund as well as in establishing new PE funds on the Croatian market. Thanks to my business results, I have been proclaimed one of the 10 most powerful women in Croatian business for several years in a row. My professional growth is enriched by performing various functions, such as- Member of the Administrative Board of the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB)- Member of the Supervisory Board of the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF)- President of the Board of Directors of the China-CEEC Inter-Bank Association- Vice-President of the Managing Board of the Croatian Exporters Association, and - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Croatian Credit Insurance. Before joining HBOR, I worked for Zagrebačka banka d.d. – UniCredit where I held various managerial positions (Financing Department Manager, Business Strategy and Finance Product Department Manager, Corporate Banking Department Manager, Investment Banking Department). I graduated from the Faculty of Economics & Business University of Zagreb, Croatia, and received my Master of Science degree in Economics.
