I recently received my M.S. in clinical counseling on the LPCC track. I am currently completing clinical hours to gain eligibility to sit for licensure while pursuing research and teaching opportunities in the CFD and Psychology departments at San Diego State. I have experience working with children on the ASD spectrum (within a research setting) and children and families who have experienced various forms of trauma. I am particularly interested in clinical and research work related to the connection and relationship between individual/generational and family trauma and emotional/psychiatric disorders, as well as the influence of culture, family systems, and societal expectations. I believe that intervention and attention to mental health in the early childhood years is crucial to promote wellness and healthy development for children and families.
