About Tamara Smith

As a Success Coach at Dallas College, I apply my EdD in Higher Education and over eight years of experience in the higher education industry to support students in achieving their academic and personal goals. I collaborate with faculty, advisors, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies for student success, retention, and completion. My core competencies include academic advising, event management, curriculum development, public speaking, and program development. I have a proven track record of creating and managing innovative projects and initiatives, such as Design for Completion teams, early alert systems, and AVID techniques, that enhance student engagement, learning, and outcomes. I also teach face-to-face and online courses on strategies for success, career planning, and student assessment. My mission is to empower students to succeed by providing them with the skills, resources, and guidance they need to thrive in their education and beyond.
