About Tamera Rouse

I am a hardworking, creative, and an open minded individual who is a hands-on learner. I am the type of individual who is not afraid to asks questions when something is not clear. In my free time, I enjoy exploring trails and playing strategy games with friends and family. My interest in engineering started when I had the opportunity to participate in the NASA Community Aerospace Scholars, in November 2015. During this three-day event, students across the country were assigned into groups of 10 to design and program a rover to accomplish two missions, while also touring the Marshall Space Station. This last summer, I worked for Iowa State University in the Facilities Planning and Management department as a construction manager. I was assisting on keeping records updated on 5 to 9 different projects around campus throughout the summer. Some of the projects were the Student Innovation Center, Lied Recreation Center switching from steam to natural gas, and two utility road projects. Earlier in the fall of 2017, I had the opportunity work with Bowen Engineering in preplanning to the start of construction in Kentucky on a coal power plant. My role was a field engineer for the steel along with material coordinator. I am looking for a full time position within Mechanical Design. With being recently married and my husband attending a graduate college next fall, I don't want to travel a lot.
