I would like to introduce myself to you by proving that I am the only clear choice for an accounting position in your organization. I believe I possess a unique and valuable combination of experience and knowledge. This “level of competence ” sets me apart from other candidates. For over 20 years, I have enjoyed many opportunities to work in several industries before moving to Texas. During that time, I gained valuable controller experience and payroll expertise as part of my journey as a small business owner. The scope of my responsibilities ranged from management of start-up companies to development through planning, implementation, and review of current procedures. I also have extensive experience in cost accounting, auditing, research with summary write-ups, and transitional issues for businesses.In addition to the above, I have managed the accounting side of two large construction projects. The first job involved a three-year project for my church back in California. Clovis Christian Church chose to be its own general contractor and hired a construction manager. I worked side-by-side with this individual in tracking the job budget for each trade and paid the sub-contractors until the project was completed. The second job involved working with one of my clients who owned an historic 16-story building in downtown Fresno, California. She decided to change the top two stories from tenant offices to high-end luxury lofts for sale. My challenge was to separate the routine “maintenance and repairs” for the individual offices from the construction costs of the luxury lofts. I accomplished this by accumulating construction expenses in the "work in progress"(WIP) account until each loft was completed and ready for sale. The costs would then be transferred to cost of sales in the year of the sale.To date, I have assisted more than 70 small businesses during their infancy, as well as future growth and downsizing. I pride myself on my ability to deliver exceptional knowledge and expertise on time, despite the many obstacles and issues facing the business environment today.My ambition is to become a major participant in implementing strategies and plans supporting an organization’s short and long-term goals.
