About Tami Wong

After earning my BA in Psychology, I dedicated the first 20 years of my career to healthcare, with a focus on physical therapy and biotechnology operations. My journey has given me a deep understanding of patient care, having worked closely with patients, caregivers, and physicians in both corporate and clinical settings. Advocating for patients and helping them navigate their health journeys has always been my passion. In late 2022, after being laid off due to a reorganization, I took a step back to reflect on my path. This led me to write Hair Pride, a children’s book inspired by my personal experience with alopecia. The process of writing this book was transformative, deepening my self-acceptance and reigniting my passion for helping others. This journey brought me to Jo Hair Studio, where I managed a wig store and connected with women who shared similar experiences with hair loss. Our conversations about the challenges and emotions tied to hair loss inspired me to create Hair Loss Pride, a coaching and support group for women and teens facing hair loss. My mission is to provide a community where individuals can find encouragement, empowerment, and the confidence to embrace their beauty and live fulfilling lives.
