About Tamika Cullen

I grew up in what I consider to be one of the most diverse areas in the North West of England, known as Toxteth, Liverpool 8. My entire life I have been surrounded by a variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures. With this, I came to understand the pressures and barriers of society and from this, I find that my passions lie deeply in resolving inequalities founded within our local communities. This developed from my continued work with young people and young adults from areas within Merseyside over the last few years. This has allowed me to accumulate a strong founded understanding of people from various backgrounds, faiths & none, sexualities and more. My lived experiences have developed both my personal and professional life. My aim is to develop professional relationships with young people and adults to support and enhance their participation and engagement through a diversified form of informal education. I believe in attempting to make good of the environments our young people are so familiar with and I believe the way in which this will be achieved is by introducing incremental forms of change. I am confident with the right foundations we will be able to collectively empower, educate and enhance the potentials founded within our young people and communities.
