With over 15 years of work experience in the health care sector, I am a passionate and dedicated Financial Counselor who strives to provide the best possible service and support to patients, doctors, and grant organizations. I have a master's degree in health care management, which enable me to navigate the complex and dynamic financial landscape of the health care industry. I am currently working as a Financial Counselor at Northside Hospital, where I am responsible for enrollment, development, research and preparation of grants and confidential patient information, using HIPPA provisions, departmental policy, and current regulations. In my current role, I apply my professional relationship-building and research skills to enroll patients for various pharmaceutical assistance programs with companies such as Amgen, Genentech, Pfizer, Bristol- Myers Squibb (BMS), Janssen Care Path and Novartis just to name a few. Additionally, I ensure compliance with grant organizations, patients, and doctors, and update and advise employees of foundation and grant changes daily. I regularly consult with clinical staff regarding patient treatments and free drug assistance programs, and offer simple, clear explanations to help patients understand their financial options and obligations. Furthermore, I have extensive experience in providing financial assistance for uninsured and insured oncology patients, creating patient estimates for treatment, and collecting outstanding balances.
